NRPF Google Group
Purpose of the group
To update on work that organisations are doing around the issue of no recourse public funds or directly related issues (e.g. local authority support for people with NRPF).
To update on changes in policy and/or legislation affecting people with no recourse to public funds.
To create opportunities for groups to connect up on policy and campaigns activities to enable more alignment around NRPF work, particularly providing an opportunity for smaller organisations who don’t usually have policy/campaigning capacity to collaborate with larger organisations with more capacity for this work.
We recognise that every member has a different focus and strategy, and we cannot be unanimous in everything. The aim is, therefore, to update each other and facilitate working together where possible, rather than to necessarily have a coordinated strategy/message.
The group is intended to supplement but not replace regular meetings. We recognise that Google groups can be overwhelming and information can be easily missed. Group-wide meetings are not currently centrally facilitated/minuted. Members are encouraged to initiate/facilitate these themselves if needed, and to post information about updates on the Google Group before/ after a relevant meeting for the benefit of anyone who can’t attend.
